Research

My group is studying the molecular mechanisms of signal transduction pathways involved in sensing amino acid starvation, and other stress conditions. We are also studying the regulatory mechanisms that allow cells to respond to starvation/stress signals adequately. Finally, we are using yeast as an ‘in vivo test tube’, e.g. to unravel the exact molecular function of mammalian genes/proteins, and we are interested in expressing proteins in yeast that are of biotechnological interest.
